There are lots of ways to get your pictures to the expert
The WoundFollowUp.com service is in two parts. One part is the program the Nurse uses to look at the
pictures of the wounds. She gets lots of pictures every day and this part is optimized to enable her
to work quickly through the day's inbox.
The other part concerns sending in Pictures to this nurse. Here is an explanation of the various ways
to send them in.
Email the picture as an attachment
Most people are now familiar with email and attaching a picture. You need to send
the email to the general address @WFUemail.com so that it gets directed to the
Wound Expert Nurse at her clinic.
Send the picture to your-phone-number @ WFUemail.com. The your-phone-number
is the number you want the nurse to call to discuss the wound. So for example it
could be 5149953749@WFUemail.com;
then the nurse will dial 514 995 3749 to discuss it.
This approach works for people signed up in a wound care clinic. You need to contact the
nurse and get signed up first.
Email pictures of several patients as attachments
A Nurse needs to identify the picture so that it gets to the right patient file.
The nurse belongs to a clinic CXC for example. The patients each have usernames wes for example.
So the nurse sends the emails to CXC.wes@WFUemail.com. That ensures that it goes to the right clinic
(CXC) and the right patient in that clinic. Other clinics can have a patient wes, quite a different person.

Single patients need to login to the website using their phone number (this is the phone
number the nurse will call). The system hashes (encrypts) the phone number and uses it as a patient-id, it's
very safe.
After the login you come to the upload picture page. Use the browse button to choose the picture
you want to send in. You can send a voice message too, if you like, it takes a few seconds to load,
but it will help the nurse when she is looking at your wound!
The Nurse will see your photo next time she 'does' her wounds duty with the
Wound Image Program.

comments.
The nurse logs in with her clinic, username and password. This allows her
to send pictures to the wound care nurse looking after that clinic. The point
here is that often the patients are in a residence without individual phone
numbers (like the single patients), and it's nicer to identify people by
their initials, rather than a number.

The nurse can choose her picture, maybe from the digital camera memory, and send
it in, with a few words of typing or a short voice message.
The wound will be seen the next time the Wound Care Nurse uses
theWoound Image Program
send an MMS (cell phone Picture message)

This is the easiest way to send in a picture
of a single patient. Just click a picture and text it to 5149953749. The patient needs to be
registered under the phone number at a clinic, so call the nurse first to get registered!
The MMS contains your phone number, and this is used as a paitient-id (encrypted of course).
The nurse will call you back on this phone.
Cell Phone Email Single
The cell-phone email works just the same as regular email except within the confines of a smaller screen. You send the picture to your-phone-number@WFUemail.com. We need you to enter the phone number in the email address so we know who the picture belongs to. You also need to register with a nurse in a clinic before sending one in. The cell phone pictures are often of excellent quality, and the nurse will call you back on this phone.
Cell Phone Email Nurse
This is very convenient if the visiting nurse carries a cell phone on her rounds. The email address is clinic.patientusername@WFUemail.com. The nurse knows her clinic, and will know the patient username that is registered with the wound care nurse at the clinic. The wound care nurse will call the nurse on her phone to discuss the patients. Of course this can also be done at the bedside if the visiting nurse wants a consult.
Android: Wound Follow Up
The Wound Follow Up app in the
Android Market greatly simplifies the process of sending in a picture to a Wound Care
Nurse. It knows where to sent it and the android cameras are usually quite good.

The Wound Follow Up Nurse app in the Android market
is for visiting nurses to send in pictures of their patients wounds to the clinic Wound
care nurse. The difference here is that the nurse version (apart from costing $25)
allows the nurse to pick which patient's photo is being taken. The single patient
app assumes that it is the owner of the phone.
In a nursing home environment the management of pressure ulcers and other
slow-to-heal wounds is a preoccupation.
Taking pictures is a way to monitor healing and hav a basis for discussion and
planning. The Images >> Upload from Camera
allows quick and easy storage. You can make use of the
facilities of the Patient Notes tab to monitor staging and healing,
There are reports available too.
