Traders Micro Connecting all sorts of things to computers
This program is a product of Traders Micro, a small computer company in Montreal Quebec. Traders Micro works mainly in real time data acquisition and control systems using the Labview language from National Instruments.
John Brohan is the principal designer and programmer. Much of the company's work has been with medical based systems.
At McGill university with Dr Emily Hamilton we developed a prototype centralized fetal monitoring systems with Artificial Intelligence to assess risk to mother and fetus on a continuous basis. This system is based on reading the fetal heart rate and the mother's contractions along with other data such as her age, and the gestational age of the fetus. A continuous analysis of the Heart Rate Tracing can provide ominous or encouraging signs about the fetus' well being. This has passed through many iterations and is now a commercial product at LMS Medical Systems
Work at the University of Vermont with Dr Peter Zvara into the behavior of the urinary bladder under various stresses and diseases. This was a classical data acquisition system to record the experimental observations in real time. This led to a home based urine flow measurement system using a cell phone to record the sound of the urine stream hitting the water in the toilet.WWW.TeleUroFlow.com
The Wound Image Program is developed in LabVIEW and interacts with a web site
written in HTML, CSS and PHP it uses the popular MySQL database system.
The Website is rather simple. The Wound Image Program does the 'heavy lifting'.
The images are re-sized and stored, often on a memory stick, in such a way
that the time the doctor wastes waiting for the image to appear is as short
as possible.
