Visiting Nurses are the most important users of the system.

Visiting nurses can use the Wound Follow Up system to:
- take photos of a wound at each visit, to monitor the healing progress
- create visible records of the cases that they look after
- send photos to a wound care nurse at the clinic or hospital
- use photos to discuss a case with a wound care expert and get treatment advice
- help hand over patients to a new visiting nurse
Benefits:
- The visiting nurse can get advice on specific wound treatment
- The wound care nurse can review many patient cases quickly
- The patient is followed without having to make trips to the clinic.
Note:The patient can also take and send photos between visits of the visiting nurse. (If this is possible and appropriate, the visiting nurse will explain the procedure to the patient.) Some clinics use these photos and phone calls to lengthen the period between visits while keeping the patient under surveillance.
