How to Take a photo of a wound.
- Lighting: Position the wound and arrange the lighting so that there is even light across the whole wound (i.e., no shadows).
- Camera settings: Look for the area on your camera where you can switch the setting/mode. If there is an icon with a flower, set it to that. The camera should be set on “macro”.
- Taking the photo: Once the camera is set and the lighting is even:
- Go very close to the wound – either directly above or directly in front of the wound (to avoid any difference in focus from one side to the other)
- Check Focus: Hold the camera button halfway down to see if the wound is in focus If it is blurry, move closer or further away until the wound is in focus
- Take the photo Then look at the photo, take another if you think you can do better!
