Traders Micro is a small Montreal-based computer company specializing in software systems for Real Time Data Acquisition and Control. John Brohan is the owner and principal designer.

Over the years it has had several projects in Medicine

Baby Log 1982 Database for newborn babies in Jewish General Hospital. It allowed searching and summarizing the birth observations of the 3000+ babies per year.
Baby Meter 1987 Grew out of a research project with Dr Emily Hamilton at McGill. This was a centralized Fetal Monitoring system. The features of the FHR tracing were identified automatically and the first steps to an automatic estimation of risk of c-section. Later developed commercially by PeriGen.
Rat Urology 1990 Studies of the force of rat erections, measuring the pressures using automated pressure transducers.
Neonatal Intensive Care database 1992 To record the course in ICU and several years of followup.
Robotic Chemistry 2000 At Merck Frosst pharmaceutical company re-programming Tecan liquid handlers to make multiple similar organic syntheses. 10 year job.
Cystometry Apparatus 2003 At University of Vermont with Dr P. Zvara. An automatic system for monitoring urine excretion and blood and bladder pressures.
Diabetes monitoring (rats) 2004 Data capture from experiments involving blood glucose measurements in rats.
Blood Analysis 2004 Merck Frosst. Instrument to prepare samples for analysis of a series of bloods for measurement of the retention time of drugs. For results of in-vivo experiments.
Uroflow measurement with cellphone 2005 Again with UVM. Novel technology to make widely available a home test for prostate enlargement (using a cellphone).
Wound Follow Up 2007 Tele-Wound-Care using pictures. First trial with ostomates.
Alzheimer Locate 2010 Use Android smart-phone to monitor and find Alzheimer's wanderers.
